LG Electronics began in 1958 and brings the same electronics-first approach to heating and cooling: inverter compressors, app control and indoor units designed to look good on a wall. In Tiburon, Belvedere and Mill Valley we repair and install LG ductless systems and service larger Multi V installations, as an independent company with no affiliation to LG.
Art Cool in the rooms people look at
The rooms that most often need help here are the ones with the view: west-facing glass that overheats on sunny afternoons while the rest of the house stays comfortable. A single ductless head handles that room without resizing the whole system. Art Cool indoor units have flat, finished front panels meant to read as part of the room rather than as equipment, which matters on a feature wall. We place them where the airflow reaches the seating area without blowing straight at it, and route the line set and drain out of sight.
Multi F: several rooms, one outdoor unit
Multi F connects two or more indoor heads to a single outdoor unit. It fits older houses where ducts were never installed, or where crawlspace ducts serve only part of the house. When something goes wrong, the pattern tells us where to look:
- One head stops, the others work: that head’s sensors, its wiring, its refrigerant circuit at the outdoor unit, or a clogged drain that tripped it.
- All heads stop: power to the outdoor unit, its control board or the inverter drive.
- Every room is weak: a dirty outdoor coil, low refrigerant or a defrost problem.
Multi V for large homes and buildings
Multi V is LG’s variable refrigerant flow line: one outdoor system, many indoor units and a central controller, used in large homes and commercial spaces. Service on Multi V is about method: reading the system’s error history, checking communication between units, then testing refrigerant and electrical components in turn. We tell you what we found and the price before any repair.
LGRED and Dual Inverter
LGRED is LG’s cold-climate heat pump designation, built to keep heating at low outdoor temperatures. Southern Marin winters rarely get there, but the same equipment runs efficiently through the long cool season in shaded Mill Valley homes. LG’s Dual Inverter compressors vary their speed, so the system runs long and quietly at low output instead of switching on and off. A unit that seems to run all day is usually normal; a room that never reaches the setting is not.
ThinQ and error codes
LG equipment with Wi-Fi works with the ThinQ app. If it drops offline after a router change, the equipment is usually fine and only needs reconnecting. When an indoor unit shows an error code on its display or remote, write the code down before resetting anything, because a reset can make an intermittent fault harder to catch.

Most LG repairs we do involve drains, sensors, fan motors, boards and refrigerant leaks at flare connections.
