Tiburon HVAC is an independent company, so we work on whatever is installed in your home: a Carrier furnace in a crawlspace, a Lennox system serving one wing of a hillside house, a Mitsubishi Electric mini-split in a view room or a Navien unit heating water. We are not affiliated with any manufacturer, and our advice follows the equipment’s age and condition, not a brand’s catalog.
Furnaces, air conditioners and heat pumps
Central systems from Carrier, Trane, Lennox, Rheem, Goodman, Bryant, York, American Standard, Ruud, Amana, Heil, Coleman and Payne make up most of the ducted equipment we see. Trane owners in Mill Valley can also read our Trane service in Mill Valley page.
Several of these brands share a parent company and many designs and parts: Carrier, Bryant and Payne; Trane and American Standard; Rheem and Ruud; Goodman and Amana; York and Coleman. If you own one, the sister brand’s page is a useful second read.
Most brands sell basic, mid-range and top lines. The top lines usually add variable-speed blowers and two-stage or modulating operation, which run more quietly and hold the temperature more evenly, a real benefit in large homes with long duct runs.
Ductless and inverter systems
Most Mitsubishi Electric, Daikin, Fujitsu, LG and Samsung equipment we work on is mini-splits and inverter heat pumps. The indoor and outdoor units talk to each other, so a repair usually starts with the error code on the indoor unit or the remote. See mini-split repair.
Water heating and boilers
Navien and Noritz are known for tankless water heaters, and Navien also makes boilers. In homes with radiant floors the boiler is part of the heating system, and heating repair covers it.
Salt air matters more than the badge
Outdoor units near the water corrode faster whatever brand they are. When you replace one on a waterfront lot, ask which coil coatings or corrosion-resistant options the manufacturer offers for coastal sites.
