Heat pumps are the most efficient heating option, delivering 2-3 units of heat per unit of electricity (200-300% efficient). Geothermal heat pumps achieve even higher efficiency. For furnaces, condensing gas models reach 98% AFUE. The best choice depends on your climate, fuel costs, and existing infrastructure.
